This Privacy Policy explains how Ballpark Reptiles LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use My Reptile Atlas (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run the Service:
- Account information — your email address, password (stored securely and in encrypted/hashed form by our authentication provider), business or colony name, and the species you keep.
- Content you create — the records you add, such as animals, lineage, pairings, clutches, weights, feeding logs, photos, calendar reminders, and sales or financial notes.
- Payment information — if you subscribe, payments are processed by Stripe. We receive limited billing details (such as subscription status and the last four digits/card brand); we do not receive or store your full card number.
- Technical information — basic data your browser sends automatically, such as IP address, device and browser type, and log data, plus essential cookies used to keep you signed in.
2. How we use your information
- To provide, maintain, and secure the Service and your account;
- To process subscriptions, trials, and payments, and to send related billing notices (for example, trial-ending or failed-payment emails);
- To send essential transactional emails such as email confirmation and password resets;
- To respond to your questions and provide support;
- To monitor, troubleshoot, and improve the Service and prevent abuse.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use Your Content to advertise to you.
3. Cookies
We use essential cookies that are necessary to keep you logged in and to operate the Service securely. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling essential cookies may prevent you from staying signed in.
4. Service providers we share data with
We use a small number of trusted third-party providers to run the Service. They process data only on our behalf and only to provide their services:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage for your account and content.
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription management.
- Resend — delivery of transactional and account emails.
- Vercel — application hosting and delivery.
Each provider maintains its own privacy and security practices. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or in connection with a business transfer.
5. Data retention & deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at ballparkreptiles@gmail.com. Some information may be retained where required for legal, tax, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes.
6. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. However, no online service can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and you use the Service at your own risk. Please keep your password confidential and use a strong, unique password.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise these rights, or ask us any privacy question, by contacting us at ballparkreptiles@gmail.com. We will respond within a reasonable time and as required by applicable law.
8. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International users
The Service is operated from the United States, and your information is processed and stored there and in the regions used by our service providers. By using the Service, you consent to this processing.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above, and, for material changes, provide additional notice where appropriate.
